My surface pattern process in the beginning…

I was experimenting in Illustrator on a series of patterns using sketches I did of various cats over the years - some of them strays that wandered the neighborhood. This is the first one I’ve used in a pattern so far.

These are images of the the first fabric swatches I ordered from Spoonflower.
There are at least 6 different colorways that I’m playing with, while also working on new pattern deigns along the way.

These are some other colorways I started to experiment with:

Repeating cat illustrations on a spotted pink and gray patterned fabric
Four colorful cat-print fabric pattern swatches with dotted backgrounds in blue, red, pink, and brown.

These early patterns became part of my first collection for clothstudio.
